Defense Cane, Silver-plated Bronze Knob Decorated With A Bird Motif

An elegant defense cane with a heavy pommel made of silver-plated bronze, decorated with a bird holding a piece of fruit in its beak. Its heavy pommel allowed it to be transformed into a formidable weapon for self-defense. The shaft is made of palm wood carved to resemble bamboo. The ferrule is made of horn. The total length of the cane is 34,25 inches. This superb cane, in perfect condition, would be a fine addition to a collection but can also be used. Dating from the 1900s.
