Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (1824–1887) was a renowned French sculptor and one of Auguste Rodin’s mentors. His works can be seen, notably, at the Musée d’Orsay, the Petit Palais, the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, and the Opéra Garnier, where two torchbearers stand at the foot of the Grand Staircase.
