Small Seascape — Oil On Wood Panel

A very lovely seascape, painted in oil on a wood panel, in a particularly appealing small format of 47 × 27 cm.

The composition offers a beautiful view of a Mediterranean bay, featuring a coastal town bathed in light, a few boats on the water, and, in the background, a mountainous landscape with bluish hues. In the foreground, generously brushed vegetation frames the scene, dominated by a beautiful tree whose movement elegantly structures the entire composition.

The appeal of this work lies above all in the quality and confidence of the brushwork. The painter works spontaneously, with bold and generous brushstrokes, without ever losing sight of the composition’s balance. The impasto, the color contrasts, and the small touches of light give this seascape a remarkable presence and freshness.

One will particularly appreciate this distinctive painting, executed by a clearly confident hand that knows how to suggest a landscape with economy while retaining great pictorial richness.

The luminous palette, dominated by the blues of the sea and sky, the greens of the vegetation, and the warm earth tones of the foreground, evokes the Mediterranean landscapes painted on the French Riviera at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
