A George III sterling silver cruet stand, Paul Storr, London, 1808

This magnificent and large antique George III cruet set consists of two mustard pots, two large oil/vinegar bottles on the original stand. The two large oil/vinegar bottles retain the original hinged covers. The impressive mustard pots retain the original covers, embellished with the original engraved, and surmounted with acorn style finials. The components of this impressive Georgian antique cruet set are displayed on the original hallmarked plain oval shaped stand.The stand is ornamented with impressive, integrated, chased acanthus leaf and volute scroll decorated handles, a balls decorated border around the rim. The stand retains the original thread decorated hallmarked carrying frame incorporating four receivers held on four column style supports with lion paw feet, which secure to the underside of the stand with locking nuts.

Slight signs of age and superficial scratches. The five hallmarks are present on the base of the stand. On the handle of the stand, the following are present: the manufacturer's logo, the passant lion, the date letter, and the duty mark. On the two oil cruets, we find the manufacturer's logo, the passant lion, and the date letter. Meanwhile, on the two salt cellars, there are the manufacturer's logo, the passant lion, the date letter, and the duty mark. On the lids of the two salt cellars, the manufacturer's logo, the passant lion, and the date letter are present.
