The central leg is attached to the drawer at the back of the piece. When this drawer is pulled out, it transforms the console into a round table.
Please note: there are signs of wear on the underside of the tabletop; these have been filled with hard wax. This wear is not visible when the tabletop is closed and the piece is used as a console table.
