An important 18th-century Italian holy water font made of Sicilian breccia, consisting of two parts: a large circular basin and its base.
The basin, with a diameter of 60 cm, is deeply carved and edged with a thick molding. It rests on an imposing turned baluster with generously rounded lines, topped by a square, molded base.
The Sicilian breccia features a particularly dynamic natural pattern, blending shades of reddish-brown, ochre, pink, and cream.
The interior of the basin bears the marks of its former use and shows significant erosion due to prolonged exposure to holy water.
