Roger Guérin (1896–1954)
A leading figure in 20th-century Belgian ceramics, Roger Guérin settled in Bouffioulx, a historic center of stoneware pottery in Belgium. Trained alongside some of the great masters, he breathed new life into salt-fired stoneware and crackled and poured glazes. His creations are distinguished by powerful architectural forms, hand-sculpted or hand-engraved decorations, and an exceptional mastery of flambé glazes with rich, deep hues.
