Imposing oil on canvas (140 x 112 cm) depicting Joan of Arc tending her sheep in a rural landscape. Barefoot, holding a rosary and with an inspired gaze, she is visited by several winged angels emerging from the forest: a symbolic scene of her mystical visions in Domrémy. The whole is framed by a floral vault decorated with two cherubs and surmounted by a heraldic coat of arms. The composition, very narrative, is part of the tradition of naïve religious painting of the early 20th century. A touching and decorative work, imbued with popular spirituality.
