Horn Self-defense Cane, Late 19th Century

An elegant and authentic self-defense cane dating from the late 19th century, featuring a horn handle mounted on a brass ferrule. The shaft is entirely covered with a striped pattern, alternating between natural, red, and black tones, creating a highly original look.

It is topped with a solid forged steel tip, characteristic of self-defense canes designed to provide greater stability as well as a deterrent effect.

The handle features a beautiful patina from use as well as an old crack from shrinkage—a common feature on antique horn pieces—which does not compromise the overall strength of the cane. The tip retains its original patina with slight surface oxidation.

A cane with character, sought after by collectors of civilian weapons, antique canes, and curios.
