18th-century Regency-era Gilt Bronze Inkwell
A rare and beautiful Regence-style gilt bronze inkwell.
With a flowing shape and a guilloché-patterned base, it rests on four small turned feet.
It includes an inkwell and a snuffbox, both of which have retained their lids, as well as a small bell and a small candlestick (which is quite unusual!)
A few small dents, but overall it is in good condition and the gilding is still well preserved.
It does not bear the crowned “C” hallmark, as it was manufactured before this hallmark—engraved on high-quality silver, brass, and bronze items from 1743 to 1749 in Paris—came into effect.
