Pair Of 19th-century Painted Sheet-metal Cone-shaped Vases

A very pretty pair of painted tin vases with romantic decorations.
It’s quite unusual to find them in a small size.
These are truly beautiful examples of this type of tin vase.
They are all the more interesting because each side is adorned with lively scenes featuring romantic motifs such as ancient ruins, etc., but they are hand-painted—not chromolithography or decals, but genuine miniature paintings.

Shaped like a cone, they rest on four claw-foot legs bearing traces of gilding and are screwed onto a square base painted in faux red marble, reminiscent of Italian cherry red.

The set is in good condition despite a few minor paint restorations and some dents that are barely visible in the photos.

These are charming, small-sized painted tin vases that bear witness to the Romantic era of the first half of the 19th century.
