Art Nouveau Planter In Gilded Bronze With Holly Decoration, Signed E. Gros
An elegant oval tabletop planter, crafted from gilded bronze with a patina, dating from around 1900, at the height of the Art Nouveau period. The composition, with its fluid and dynamic lines, features an openwork railing adorned with a rich naturalistic design of holly branches, veined leaves, and berries rendered in relief. The foliage is enhanced by a gray-green patina that contrasts harmoniously with the antique gilding of the body. The planter rests on four scroll-shaped feet. The piece bears the signature “E. Gros.”
