John Gould & H.c. Richter – Ptilinopus Ewingii – XIXe Siècle

A fine ornithological plate depicting *Ptilinopus ewingii* (Ewing’s Fruit-dove), from John Gould’s *The Birds of Australia*, Volume V, Plate 56. A color lithograph bearing the inscriptions "J. Gould and H.C. Richter del." and "C. Hullmandel, Imp." It features excellent print quality and coloring, with a particularly fine rendering of the plumage and naturalistic details. Presented in a period gilt frame with a green mat. Visible plate dimensions: 37 × 27.5 cm.
Frame dimensions: 46.5 × 36 cm. Condition: Good overall condition considering its age, with some minor foxing and signs of paper aging. Some marks and color variations resulting from the original framing. The antique frame shows slight signs of wear. A beautiful piece for a collector of antique ornithological prints or the work of John Gould.
