A blown-glass candy dish or bonbonnière consisting of a round bowl, a fluted lid topped with a twisted handle, and a base. The bowl and its base, both decorated with radiating ribs, are raised by a thick band of glass worked with pliers and applied while hot. The maker’s mark is visible in the center of the bowl.

France, probably Normandy, 18th century.

Dimensions: rim diameter 21 cm – bowl diameter 17 cm – total height 12 cm.

The set, of a handsome size, is in very good overall condition, with no cracks or chips. There are a few minor scratches from normal use on the base and on the lid. The glass is sound, with a good luster and scattered small air bubbles.
