Rare pair of Paris porcelain mustard pots in the Napoleon III Second Empire style
A superb pair of tabletop mustard pots with attached saucers made of hard-paste porcelain from Paris, dating from the 19th century (Napoleon III Second Empire period, circa 1850–1880).
Each piece features a rimmed lid with a notch for the spoon and a handle shaped like a seed-filled fruit. They are adorned with a rich hand-painted gilded decoration featuring an interlaced monogram beneath a crown within scrollwork cartouches, with a gilded border around the edges.
