This bouquet of bellfowers with Canterbury bells was chosen and painted by the artist from San Gimignano for its high symbolic value since the bellfowers of Canterbury are associated with the Via Francigena which connects Rome to Canterbury via San Gimignano.

The canvas has a micro perforation, in no way prohibitive.
However, the reading of the work remains satisfactory.

The frame would also require restoration but remains in a state of presentation that will be described as used.
A restoration of the work as well as the frame would have been entirely conceivable, but not carried out, for the sake of preserving the work and the frame in their strict original condition.
