Empire-style Clock With A Gilded Bronze Obelisk And Green Marble

A portico clock made of veined sea-green marble with chiseled and gilded bronze fittings. The structure rests on a stepped rectangular base, supported by eight gilded bronze spindle-shaped feet.

​The upper section is crowned by a central obelisk adorned with a ribbon-wrapped torch and topped with a sphere of blue hardstone (lapis lazuli style).
​The two side posts form pilasters adorned with flaming torches and a balustrade with gilded chains at the base.
​Above the dial sits an eagle with outstretched wings resting on a motif of laurel leaves.
​The visible balance wheel takes the form of a radiant sun mask (Apollo motif).
​
​White enamel dial displaying the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals.
​The center of the dial is made of gilded bronze, finely guilloché with a radiating pattern.
​Cut-out hands and two winding holes.

Excellent condition; a small, barely visible chip in the enamel on the back.
