Two Family Portraits By Johann Baptist Von Lampi The Younger (1775–1837), Attributed

Artist: Johann Baptist Von Lampi Le Jeune (1775-1837), Attribués
Two portraits of a noble married couple were painted in the early 19th century; although unsigned, they are very similar and meet all the criteria for attribution to the famous Austrian portrait painter Johann Baptist von Lampi the Younger (1775, Trento – 1837, Vienna). He was born in Trento and studied under his father, Johann Baptist von Lampi the Elder, and later at the Vienna Academy. He accompanied his father to Saint Petersburg for thirteen years and became a member of the Academy there as well as of the Vienna Academy in 1813. He painted several of the most distinguished figures of his time. He died in Vienna.
