Cavalry sword dated 1798, Spain, 18th century.
Shell-shaped guard with inverted quillon bearing the hallmarks: a crowned "R" and a "T".
Flat, double-edged blade bearing the crowned letter "R" and the date 1798, stamped "CS IV" for CHARLES IV, King of Spain.
Marked "T" for Toledo.
"C" for Cavalry; see photos.
Single guard branch separated from the bottle-shaped pommel and rivet button.
Filigree tang with splints.
Donkey-step branch inside the guard shell and quillon with an inverted tip.

Blade length: 84.5 cm
Blade width at the heel: 3.5 cm
