Medici Vase: Fluted Ceramic Planter with Flamed Finish by Jérôme Massier, Vallauris
A superb, large Medici-style garden planter with a flared neck and fluted body. Magnificent marbled flamed glaze decoration in shades of midnight blue, sky blue, and white—typical of the artistic work of the Massier studio in Vallauris in the late 19th century, around 1900
This piece is unsigned—which is common for large garden pieces from this period—but its attribution to Jérôme Massier Vallauris is beyond doubt given the craftsmanship of the fluted design and the mastery of the poured glaze.

Color palette of blue and white with a flamed effect
Condition: Antique piece sold “as is.” Shows chipping and cracks on the pedestal and the inner rim visible at the base; see photos. The structure remains solid and retains all its decorative and heritage charm.
In-person pickup is preferred given the piece’s weight and fragility.
