A superb and substantial table decanter made of twisted blown crystal, entirely encased in a rich, openwork vermeil setting of solid gold-plated silver featuring a floral design, foliage, and Rocaille scrollwork.
The piece bears a magnificent monogram chased on the base. A work from Central Europe (Germanic) of the late 19th century, in the style of the silversmiths of Hanau or Austria-Hungary
No hallmarks, as is often the case with Hanau silverware; the crystal and vermeil silver were tested with a touchstone, which confirmed they are indeed vermeil
Attributed to the Hanau silversmiths
Flowers, openwork foliage, rocaille motifs, and a cartouche with an interlaced monogram, characteristic of Hanau silversmiths.

Gross weight 1,100 g.
Excellent condition. Gilding is well-preserved and has a beautiful patina. Original stopper included.
