"henri-gustave Delvigne" Pistol - (1800–1876) - 19th Century
Artist: Henri- Gustave Delvigne - Officier D'infanterie De La Garde Royale - 1800 - 1876 -
A compact, short, stocky pocket pistol with an angular appearance that contrasts with the rounded shapes of firearms from that era.
Henri-Gustave DELVIGNE, a former infantry officer in the Royal Guard (1800–1876), was the inventor and manufacturer of this weapon.
Beautifully finished walnut frame; the grip is positioned at a right angle to the barrel’s axis and ends in a rod within the cap—a highly original design (see photos)—held in place by a locking lug.
Extended stock ending at the rear third of the barrel.
Folding trigger that retracts into the stock.
Octagonal barrel with internal rifling and a primer chamber featuring a large flash guard.
Rear sight and ball-shaped front sight at the muzzle end of the barrel.
Loading rod with a “nail head” rammer, retractable into the concealed grip and integral with the cap.
Ornately crafted, L-shaped percussion lock recessed into the right side of the frame.
Hammer with a fish-shaped crest, notched, previously restored at the crest.
Mechanism in perfect working order, single-action.
All metal parts, including screws, are ornately engraved with floral motifs, except for the barrel.
Caliber: 10 mm
Barrel length: 8.2
Length: 15 cm
In excellent condition and well-preserved, with its original finish and patina; see the photos for details.
Free shipping within France.
International shipping costs available upon request, depending on the destination country.
