A Charming Early 19th-century Aquatint Engraving, Framed, Titled "jeu Des Oubliés," With A Needle Pointing To
Artist: D. Bosio / Schenker Grav.
A beautiful, vivid early 19th-century engraving depicting young people in a garden around a dial with a rotating horizontal hand, pointing to the lucky man or woman chosen by chance; the young man, who appears intimidated by the three women accompanied by a little girl, is pointed to by the dial’s hand; he has a knowing and satisfied look on his face... A delightful scene from the reign of Charles X, in very good condition and nicely framed; an intimate scene full of carefree joy, just as people loved it with the return of the Ancien Régime. This depiction is rare and very charming.
