A very lovely still life depicting a bouquet of zinnias in vibrant colors, arranged in a small vase in light tones. The artist plays with a delicate and luminous palette of yellows, pinks, reds, and whites, set against a subdued background of bluish-gray hues.

The work attests to the talent of Charles Clément Francis Perron (1893–1958), a French painter trained at the Beaux-Arts in Nantes and later in Paris, who was notably awarded the Second Grand Prix de Rome in 1921. He also served as curator of the Nantes Museum of Fine Arts from 1936 to 1945. Still lifes occupy an important place in his body of work.

The artist’s work appears regularly on the art market, notably with still lifes and flower arrangements offered at auction.
