Glass And Silver Perfume Bottle, Mexico, Circa 1950–1970

An elegant Mexican perfume bottle, circa 1950–1970. Rectangular in shape, it features a clear glass body entirely encased in an openwork silver mount with a stylised decoration of foliage and what appear to be birds.
The silverwork, finely crafted on all sides, creates a particularly decorative interplay of solid and open areas.
The bottle is completed by a cylindrical silver stopper, finished in a simple style.
The underside bears Mexican hallmarks: the Mexican silver hallmark and a hallmark bearing the number 53.

Condition: generally good condition: signs of wear and a dent in the silver stopper.
