Sugar Bowl Made Of Fine Rambervillers Earthenware Or Pipe Clay, Lorraine, 18th Century
Oval, lobed sugar bowl with lid, made of fine earthenware, featuring a molded relief decoration of flowering branches and clusters of fruit; the lid is topped with a pear-shaped fretel with veined leaves. The rim features a notch for a sprinkling spoon.
Lorraine earthenware, possibly attributed to Rambervillers or Moyen, dating from the last third of the 18th century, around 1770–1780.
Dimensions: length 13.5 cm – width 9.5 cm – height including the finial 11.5 cm.
In very good condition; the enamel has retained its original luster. There are slight, inconspicuous wear marks on the rim. The lid and lid handle are intact.
