Neogothic-style Carved Oak Chest, 19th Century
Carved oak chest, a 19th-century piece in the Neo-Gothic style.
The front is punctuated by vertical carved panels featuring Gothic window designs, foliage, and architectural motifs. The sides feature the same decorative style and are fitted with drop-down iron handles.
Hinged lid, reinforced with two iron fittings featuring openwork decoration. Central metal lock plate. Single-compartment interior.
Traditional construction with assembled panels and stiles. Shows signs of wear, marks, small cracks, and repairs consistent with its age and use. Wood-boring insect damage is visible on some parts; their current activity status is unknown. A few small chips and imperfections are visible, particularly on the lower sections and the reverse side.
