Louis XV period mirror (circa 1750), in carved and gilded wood, featuring finely executed ornamentation typical of the Rococo style. The glass, slightly altered and pitted, is originally mercury. Upper pediment: decorated with a basket of fruit (bunch of grapes and vine foliage), a symbol of abundance and fertility, a very popular motif in the first half of the 18th century. Frame: decoration of volutes, foliage, shells and acanthus foliage, hand-carved in an asymmetrical composition typically Rococo. Glass: antique mercury mirror, pitted, not replaced Back: antique solid wood paneling Good overall condition, in its original condition, some missing gilding, small repairs and missing parts, all visible in the photos.
