Sèvres Manufactory: Porcelain Service For 14, With A Monogram From The Napoleonic III Era

Sèvres porcelain dessert service, 14 dinner plates, 4 compote bowls, and raised plates, decorated with gold fillets and a monogram “L” (and double “E”) gilded with fine gold.

All pieces bear the S56 through S60 markings for Sèvres between 1856 and 1860 and were gilded at Sèvres in 1860 for the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory of Sèvres in 1860. The latter date marks when this set, produced as a special commission, was released for sale.
The quality meets the standards of the most prestigious French porcelain manufacturer: exquisite finesse of lines, flawless glaze, and beautiful, high-quality gilding.

They are in excellent condition, with very fresh gilding. There is a small chip on the underside of one of the shallow plates. One dinner plate has a small chip under the rim.

Diameter: 22 cm for the plates, 23 and 23.5 cm for the serving dishes.
