The composition, skillfully designed to follow the natural branching of the coral, features elegant female figures in flowing gowns, set against a richly detailed natural landscape. The work is embellished with an extraordinary variety of meticulously carved elements, including lotus flowers, bamboo, plant scrolls, birds, and symbolic Eastern motifs.
