Vintage Console Table, Restored In Mahogany—marble Top—19th Century
An elegant Restoration-era console table, crafted from mahogany, featuring beautiful design elements characteristic of the first third of the 19th century.
The front is defined by two strongly curved front console legs, topped with carved motifs in the shape of paws, while two straight legs form the rear section.
The piece rests on a substantial curved plinth, adorned with ball feet at the front.
The apron features beautiful mahogany arranged in symmetrical scrollwork, which particularly highlights the wood’s hues and grain.
The console is topped by a thick slab of gray-black veined marble containing fossils, with a molded edge.
A lower shelf harmoniously completes the piece.
A decorative piece with balanced proportions, suitable for placement in either an entryway or a living room.
Period: Restoration era, first half of the 19th century.
Signs of wear visible in the photographs: a few marks, scratches, and minor imperfections due to age, particularly on the shelf and the wood. The marble also shows signs of wear.
