Charming pair of porcelain dishes with polychrome decor of country and sentimental scenes in the spirit of the 19th century.

Each piece features a different scene:

- young women in a wooded landscape, evoking a scene of confidence,

- couple of characters in an intimate, bucolic atmosphere.

The decor is delicately treated, with beautiful work on the trees in brown and ochre cameos, done in projection (a technique known as "au soufflé"), typical of French productions of the late 19th century.

The finely painted central scenes add a narrative and poetic touch.

Marked on reverse D&C France.
