Rare set of cards from an English puzzle game, complete in 8 pieces, circa 1860–1870.
Printed cardboard pieces hand-colored with watercolors, in their original box.
Merchant’s label: “Jr. Vimont. Jeweler, Hardware Store, etc. 5 Rue de Toulouse, Rennes.”
In fine used condition. The colors of the figures are still vibrant. Some foxing on the paper, a common feature of 19th-century antique papers. No nicks along the margins; the corners of the cards are sturdy.
Dimensions of the box: 13 x 9 cm.
