Rare Signed Persian Rug From Isfahan – Wool And Silk – Shah Era, Circa 1970 – No. 1705

An elegant Persian carpet from Isfahan made around 1970, during the Shah’s reign, in wool and silk. It features a remarkable, classically inspired floral design centered around a richly ornamented central medallion, set against an ivory background delicately enlivened with foliage, flowers, and arabesques.

The composition is framed by successive borders in shades of burgundy, midnight blue, ivory, and gray, adorned with finely rendered floral and plant motifs. The density of the design and the finesse of the work attest to the traditional craftsmanship of the Isfahan workshops. The use of silk lends brilliance and delicacy to the details of the pattern.

A signature cartouche in Persian script is visible in the lower part of the rug.
