Oil Painting: "breton, Brittany" By Georges Eveillard—le Croisic, Seascape, Guérande, Le Pouliguen
Artist: Georges Eveillard
Oil on cardboard depicting the Côte Sauvage in Le Croisic, in the Loire-Atlantique department, on the Guérande Peninsula.
It is the work of Georges EVEILLARD, born in Nantes in 1879 and died in 1965.
This military painter first exhibited in the special section for mobilized artists and then in the section for French artists beginning in 1919.
He is, of course, listed in the *Benezit*.
He served as director of the School of Fine Arts and curator of the Saint-Nazaire City Museum.
This very luminous painting depicts the rocks of the Côte Sauvage plunging into the ocean.
The contrast between the light-drenched rocky masses and the bluish and turquoise hues of the sea is particularly well rendered.
The brushwork is energetic and vigorous, with impasto.
This oil painting is on cardboard, signed in the lower right corner.
On the back is written: “Le Croisic,” and it is countersigned: Georges EVEILLARD, Knight of the Legion of Honor.
This seascape is presented in a recent gilded and carved wooden frame with a canvas mat.
Dimensions with frame: 45 cm x 37 cm.
Viewable dimensions: 33.50 cm x 26 cm.
Shipping cost within France via Colissimo registered mail with insurance and excellent packaging: 25 €.
