Jean Perzel (1892–1986) Art Deco Lamp, Model 517

Rare large Art Deco lamp by Jean Perzel (1892–1986), signed "PERZEL" on the base, an authentic period model 517 from around 1940, featuring a refined gilded bronze base with a slender conical shape, supporting a lacquered pyramidal shade with a central section adorned with a stepped, openwork gilded brass band and an opaque glass lining. Electrical components are in good working order; the lamp is in excellent condition; dimensions: 56 cm high x 40 cm wide.

REFERENCES: A historic lamp by Perzel exhibited at the Salon and awarded a prize in 1936; it had captivated the jury of the international lighting competition, which awarded it first prize.
