Impressive Art Nouveau Serving Sideboard – Mercier Frères Paris – Mahogany, marble, and mirrors – Circa 1900

A very elegant and impressive Art Nouveau-style serving sideboard, crafted by the renowned Parisian firm Mercier Frères, whose original plaque is still present inside the piece.

Crafted from beautiful mahogany with warm tones, this piece features a particularly original and elegant design, characteristic of creations from the 1900s.

The lower section opens via two large doors with panels carved with curved and plant-inspired motifs typical of the Art Nouveau style.

They reveal a spacious storage area fitted with a shelf.

Above are two drawers, fitted with original decorative handles combining wood and metal.

The brass keyholes and hardware harmoniously complete the ensemble.

The sideboard is topped by a light-colored, heavily veined marble top, providing a beautiful display surface.

The upper section is particularly decorative, featuring a large back mirror, framed by a wooden structure with soft, flowing lines.

The sides are also lined with mirrors, accentuating the piece’s brightness and depth.

On either side are several rounded, tiered shelves, perfect for displaying decorative objects, glassware, or porcelain.

The entire piece is supported by tall, gently curved legs that elegantly extend the cabinet’s vertical lines.

The presence of the plaque “Ameublements de Style – Mercier Frères – Paris” is a particularly interesting feature and allows this serving table to be attributed to this important Parisian furniture house.
