Large English-saddled horse cast in patinated bronze, coat coloration r chestnut horse. The animal is depicted in an elegant waiting stance, with its head slightly turned to the right.
A previous owner mounted the sculpture on this attractive French marble base, whose coloration harmonizes well with the bronze.
Particular note should be made of the quality of the detailing: the treatment of skin, the expressive modelling of eyes, and careful rendering of the saddle and harness. This work is characteristic of Vienna bronze production from the late 19th century.
The bronze bears the mark"Geschützt" ("registered" or "protected") on the belly strap, together with the model number 4168.

Condition: good overall condition, with minor wear consistent with age and a few slight distortions to elements of the harness. The attractive original patina has been very well preserved. The markings remain visible and legible
