Elegant Brass Candlestick, Late 16th Century, With A Wide Turned Base

A striking candlestick, rare piece with a particularly elegant shape, featuring a wide, circular base with a slight concavity engraved with concentric circles, truncated conical shaft, and flared bowl shaped like a small Medici vase….
Cast from airain—a quality of bronze that is silky to the eye but brittle—its base has been entirely reworked on lathe (see below), then riveted and sealed with pewter beneath a beautiful antique patina.
Good condition, attractive appearance, though with one flaw: a small crack on rim; see the dedicated photo.
Height: 19 cm, diameter:14 cm, Weight: approximately 0.6 kg.
This authentic piece is likely from Henry IV period.
Condition: Good overall condition. Slight warping at the base. Beautiful silky patina.
