Embossed Copper Basin, Royal Scenes, Persia, Late 18th Century, Qadjar Art
Artist: Art Qadjar
Beautiful object, thick copper built in two parts, assembled by soldering in the middle of the decorative frieze. Central decor is pushed back and over-engraved, there are 6 reserves, each with an animated scene around one monarch, I counted 24 characters, 3 animals. 6 curious pedestals separate these scenes, surmounted by 2 animal deities. (rats?) . Shoulder of basin is decorated in a crown with 6 engraved inscriptions, that I cannot translate. Persia, late 18th or early 19th century.
