The ARIS brand is part of the history of 20th-century French watchmaking.
The company Établissements Aris emerged in the wake of the Arthur Israël company and operated the ARIS brand beginning in the 1920s.
The brand is notably linked to the watchmaking centers of Villers-le-Lac and Morteau, in the Haut-Doubs, a historic region of the French watchmaking industry.
Établissements Aris also maintained a commercial presence in Paris, while continuing its operations in Morteau throughout the mid-20th century.

Movement - mechanical
Caliber similar to the ETA 735, but note that the movement features an engraving of a horseshoe with 8 holes.
Hand-wound movement, in good condition and fully functional.
This watch is in working order; it has been serviced by a professional watchmaker.
The movement is well-adjusted.

Accuracy
The watch has been tested and is accurate to within a few minutes over the course of a day.

Champagne-colored, in good condition, a few small scratches and old signs of oxidation; see photos

Original, functional for setting the time and winding, in fairly good condition.

Made of chrome-plated stainless steel, with a few scratches (see photos)

Stainless steel case back with Art Deco-style geometric decorations; see photos. Same comments regarding condition as for the case.

Strap
Original, still sturdy and functional, made of leather, ideally should be replaced...
