Henri D’Anty, born in Belleville in 1910 and died in 1998, was a 20th-century French painter committed to an expressive and highly personal style of figurative art. His painting is distinguished by a rich palette, strong contrasts, and above all by an abundant pictorial texture, often applied with a knife or palette knife.
