Oval extendable table in the Biedermeier style with 5 inlaid panels, from southern Germany, circa 1880
Cherry wood veneer and solid cherry wood. Edge, leg ends, and decorative band on the tabletop are ebonized. 6 tapered, conical square legs in solid cherry. 5 extension leaves, approximately 49.5 cm long, in cherry veneer, added during restoration.
Surface hand-polished with shellac. In good condition, restored some time ago, with slight signs of wear. Can be repolished upon acquisition, and the ebonized parts can be re-ebonized with shellac.
Extends to approximately 385 cm, seating up to 18 people.
