1895 Frame - Made For Vincent Scotto -

A carved wooden frame made from a single piece, dating from the late 19th century, dated 1895.

Given to Vincent Scotto (1874–1952) by his parents for his 21st birthday; it contained various photographs from his birth through his coming of age.

Born in Marseille to Neapolitan parents, Vincent was registered as French, though his parents called him Vincenzo. In fact, the engraving of his first name was altered from the French form to the Italian one, as evidenced by the presence of the bar on the “T.”
The five small-format panels measure 10 cm x 6 cm.

The central panel measures 17 cm x 12 cm.
Total frame size: 72 cm x 47 cm.
Very beautiful patina.
Small visible chips along the edges.
Frame in very good original condition.
