MAISON VEUVE MAURICE (PARIS)
A charming, intricately shaped easel frame in gilded bronze and polychrome champlevé enamels. The front features a rich Rocaille-inspired decoration, entirely covered in champlevé enamels depicting foliage motifs, leafy volutes and small stylised flowers in shades of turquoise blue, cobalt blue, white, green and old rose against a gold background. The top is crowned by an asymmetrical, undulating pediment shaped like a whip.
A recessed maker’s mark depicting a windmill flanked by the initials V and M, surmounting the inscription ‘DÉPOSÉ PARIS’.
