Important Venini Cascade Chandelier Made Of Murano Glass – Italy, Circa 1960–1970
A spectacular Venini Murano glass chandelier, composed of a multitude of long, prismatic crystal glass rods arranged in a cascade at varying heights.
The composition, which is particularly elegant and sculptural, forms a dynamic and ethereal silhouette characteristic of great Italian glass design from the second half of the 20th century—specifically Venini’s work, notably its compositions using prismatic elements such as Triedri, which were developed starting in the late 1950s. The highly transparent glass elements create magnificent plays of light and reflections when illuminated.
The chandelier features a silver/chrome frame. The warm reflections visible in the photographs are caused solely by the lighting.
A truly beautiful, characterful piece—monumental and rare—particularly well-suited to a contemporary interior, an entryway, a dining room, or a space with high ceilings.
Italy, circa 1960–1970.
