Pair Of Wall Sconces With Engraved Glass Mirrors And Gilded Wood, Italy, Circa 1950
An elegant pair of two-arm wall sconces, Italian-made or in the Venetian style, dating from the mid-20th century (circa 1950).
Each sconce consists of a curved, undulating mirror panel with a beveled edge, serving as the reflector’s background. The glass is richly engraved in relief and embellished with gilded and sandblasted motifs, featuring a stylized floral design at the top framed by stars, as well as broad foliage scrolls bordering the edges.
The lower structure supporting the two light arms is made of carved wood with a gilded finish and an antique patina. The curved, double-molded arms support molded lampshades.
The backs are made of original plywood.
Very good overall condition.
Original electrical wiring.
