Oak Dining Table With Neo-renaissance-style Eagle Carvings, 19th Century
Large Carved Oak Dining Table with Eagles – Neo-Renaissance Style – 19th Century
A grand and spectacular solid oak dining table in the Neo-Renaissance style, dating from the late 19th century.
It features a remarkable base consisting of two broad, richly carved supports joined by a sturdy longitudinal crossbar.
The particularly lavish decoration consists of large carved eagles with outstretched wings, whose heads in high relief support the tabletop. The lower section is adorned with powerful scrollwork, volutes, and deeply carved foliage. The joints are reinforced by large antique iron fittings visible at the center of the legs.
The table is topped with a thick rectangular solid oak tabletop, composed of wide planks that reveal the wood’s beautiful grain. Its warm, deep patina particularly highlights the carving.
With its generous dimensions and striking decoration, this table is a piece with character, equally suited as a large dining table, a library table, or a display table.
Beautiful quality of cabinetmaking and carving.
