Biedermeier Half-cabinet (vertiko) With Half-columns, Walnut, Germany, Circa 1820
A two-door cabinet from the Biedermeier period. The front is framed by two massive walnut half-columns with ebonized capitals, which flank the body on either side.
Above the two doors is a full-length drawer. The fronts feature a continuous veneer that extends onto the drawer and doors, creating a consistent grain pattern. Inside are three shelves.
The piece has been fully restored by professionals and re-lacquered with shellac. A woodworm infestation on one side was treated, and the area was professionally repaired. One of the two doors is slightly warped at the top. The cabinet is ready for use.
