Pair Of Gilded Bronze And Enamel Candelabra – Napoleon III Period
Important pair of decorative gilded bronze candelabra, each featuring five light arms plus a raised central light, for a total of six lights.
The sinuous, coiled arms are embellished with chains of small spheres and support finely openwork candle holders.
The top is adorned with a spectacular flame motif.
The baluster shaft is adorned with a polychrome enameled frieze, featuring red and green cabochons on a light background, and flanked by openwork elements.
The entire piece rests on an architecturally styled quadrangular base topped by four richly carved feet.
The decoration is particularly abundant, characteristic of the historicist taste of the second half of the 19th century, in the spirit of French productions from the Napoleonic III era.
